Cookie & Local Storage Policy

Last updated: March 7, 2026

At MelonTag (owned by Luis Giménez Álvarez - Tax ID NIF 25164966E), privacy and transparency are core values. This policy clearly explains what cookies and web storage technologies are, what data we store in your browser, and how we ensure full compliance with Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI-CE) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?

Cookies and web storage technologies (such as localStorage and sessionStorage) are small text files or data blocks saved in your web browser or device when accessing a website or SaaS application. Their primary purpose is to ensure service functionality, remember user preferences, and guarantee secure authentication.

2. Strictly Necessary Technologies Declaration

MelonTag adheres strictly to data minimization. We do NOT use advertising cookies, behavior tracking networks, or third-party ad profiling.

We exclusively utilize strictly necessary technical storage technologies required to deliver our software service. Under Article 22.2 of Spanish LSSI-CE and EU ePrivacy guidelines, these tools are exempt from requiring a prior consent banner because the application cannot function securely without them.

3. Inventory of Employed Technologies

Key Name Type / Source Purpose Duration
token / auth_token Technical Local Storage (JWT) Maintains secure authenticated user sessions in the web application dashboard. Until user logout or token expiry (24 hours).
language / i18n_lang Technical Local Storage Remembers user interface language preference (Spanish, English, or Japanese). Persistent until manual browser data clearance.
Google Fonts (CDN) External Web Font Resource (Google LLC) Loads the Inter typography for UI rendering. Managed by browser HTTP cache.

4. Managing or Clearing Browser Storage

You can inspect, clear, or block cookies and local storage data anytime through your browser's privacy settings:

  • Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies and site data.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.
  • Apple Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data.
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions.
